At the centre of our work is a commitment to supporting the environment.
We have created our own unique pond and wetland system specifically developed as a means to treat our waste water. It is a totally sustainable eco-system which forms an interesting and varied ecological habitat that is developing into a wildlife sanctuary.
The liquid waste goes through nine stages ranging from ponds, ditches, a reed bed and a weir before being discharged into the water course as pure water. As it flows through the course, it is cleaned and filtered by the willow and alder trees which feed on the effluent, whilst green algae and other aquatic plants help to deoxidise the water and provides food for insects.
Our spent grain is recycled for feed for the animals on the farm and spent hops are spread on the fields as fertiliser.
We genuinely care about our planet and are constantly searching for new ways to help it.
