Gnasher is the ugliest dog
Whoa! Gnasher is so ugly he’d give Freddy Krueger nightmares!
This brummie canine is the deserving winner of our inaugural Ugly Dog Competition.
Over the past few months, we’ve been calling on our Facebook fans, Twitter followers and website visitors to submit photos of dogs so ugly that they could only be loved by their owners.
And your response was impressive. Though some cheeky folk did enquire about submitting photos of ex-girlfriends. Gents, that’s just rude.
Anyway, after receiving numerous entries, Gnasher, who belongs to Neil Guest, from Hall Green, Birmingham, was voted the winning pooch. His less-than attractive looks have resulted in his owner winning a tour around our brewery, which includes lunch for four people.
Our MD Paul Halsey, said: “We at Purity love dogs, so much so that we named our Pure UBU ale after our faithful canine friend UBU, who lives on the brewery farm. But rather than trying to find the cutest dogs, we wanted to celebrate those hounds that are a little challenged in the looks department.
“This competition was set up to be a bit fun but it seems as though there are some really ugly dogs out there. Of course, I’m sure they are all well loved by their owners.”
The runner up in the competition was Sam. His owner, Andy Mogg, from Redcar, near Middlesbrough, will receive a Purity Gift Pack that includes a bottle of Pure UBU, Pure Gold and Mad Goose, as well as a limited edition glass.
Meanwhile, third place went to Roxy. Owner Julie Booth, from Godalming, Surrey, will be sent a Purity t-shirt.
