This month we celebrated our sixth birthday – six whole years – we can barely believe it. We had a look back to see what was happening when we set up the business in 2005. Back then there was no Twitter, no iPhone. It was the year that:
- Ellen MacArthur broke the record for sailing the world single-handedly
- London was awarded the 2012 Olympic Games
- Doctor Who returned to TV screens
- A tornado hit Sparkbrook in Birmingham
It was also the year that we delivered our first order to the Hollybush in Alcester and we are pleased to say that we’re still supplying them to this day. Since then we have attracted a few more friends and fans along the way and are now brewing at full capacity – that’s a whopping 2.7 million pints per year.
A lot has happened at the brewery since we delivered those first barrels. We’ve expanded our team and premises, opened a new wetland system, won more than twenty awards, appeared on the TV ( here and here) and supported countless local events.
To mark the occasion we held a little party and our lovely Claire baked two yummy cakes (we <3 you Claire!):
