We were extremely delighted to attend the International Beer Challenge awards ceremony in London and pick up our certificate officially proclaiming Pure UBU one of the World’s 50 Best Beers 2007!!!
The big day arrived with directors Paul H and Jim heading down the big smoke to do the honours leaving where they were extremely chuffed to pick up the award on everyone’s behalf. As you can imagine it is now proudly on display back at the brewery!
Paul H says, “As a relatively young company we are all hugely pleased with this massive achievement. The team has worked really hard to develop a premium quality product and we are thrilled that our hard work and dedication has paid off.” “It is tremendous for us to be recognised in such esteemed company.” adds Jim, “It was a memorable occasion.”
Each year the Challenge seeks out the finest beers from across the globe and in association with Off Licence News publishes it’s list of the World’s 50 Best Beers. It attracts international entries and is supported by some of the world's biggest brewers. The winning brands will be published in the 'World's 50 Best Beers' and will receive huge publicity in other industry-leading titles.
The beers were divided into 12 classes and rigorously judged and assessed on both taste and packaging by a panel of the industry's leading beer experts, headed by Chairman and esteemed beer writer, Jeff Evans.
Jeff, an award-winning, internationally-published beer writer and is seen as the leading authority on bottled-conditioned ales. He has written and edited eight editions of the Campaign for Real Ale's best-selling Good Beer Guide and six editions of CAMRA's Good Bottled Beer Guide.
